Artist IP is the most comprehensive source of information on artist investment potential for fractional ownership and/or collecting based on patented technology.

The first left hand side toolbar category, “FIND OTHER ARTISTS”, gives the user the opportunity to find the ranking of all the artists in a sale frequency/sale price group ordered by acceding positive AIP values based on the users specified performance metric weights. The user needs to first specify the sale frequency level which appears as the cursor is moved over the words “FIND OTHER ARTISTS”. After choosing the sale frequency level, the words will appear in red, the user will either select it or move the cursor to the right where subsets of these artists by sale price point will appear. After clicking on the desired sale frequency/sale price group square and using the sliders to specify the weights click on the find other artist box and the ranking of the artists will appear.

This gives the user the ability to efficiently find out the AIP values of all artists in the selected sales frequency/average price group based on the users’ unique weight preferences. This also gives the user the ability to see how changes in the weights may affect the artist’s ordering. Once again, the sliders are preset to the users’ most recent choice of weights. These weights are easily changed by readjusting the sliders.

If you would like to analyze an artist but do not know their sales frequency or average sale price rank, click on “FIND ARTIST SALE FREQUENCY/SALE PRICE RANK” on the left side tool bar. This opens a page with a drop-down menu where an artist’s last name can be entered or selected from a list. After the desired artist is entered, click on the “obtain ranking” button to display the artist’s sale frequency/price ranks and the value of MARPUR.

In addition, we make available substantial information about each artist’s work in our database, clicking on the artist’s name on the results page, in red, will produce graphs that show the compound annual return (CAR) for each repeat sale pair as a function of purchase year, holding period and purchase price for that artist in the database. Clicking on each return dot on any of the graphs gives additional information about the work such as sale dates, size, presale price estimates, and a current market price based on inflating the most recent sale price to the present using the artist’s mean CAR.

If you know the sale frequency/sale price group you are comfortable with, but don’t know which artist to focus on click “CALCULATE OWN ARTIST AIP WITH POSITIVE MARPUR” on the left-hand side tool bar. This gives an opportunity to develop your own AIP for a designated artist, with positive MARPUR, in that group. The user needs to first specify the sale frequency level which appears as the cursor is moved over the words “CALCULATE OWN ARTIST AIP WITH POSITIVE MARPUR”. After choosing the sale frequency level, the words will appear in red, the user will either select it or move the cursor to the right where subsets of these artists by sale price point will appear. After clicking on your choice of the desired sale frequency level and sale price level a page will appear that asks the user to select, from a dropdown menu, which artist, from those in that group, you want to create an AIP.

Finally adjust the sliders to reflect your weights for the four-performance metrics. Then click on “obtain AIP” and the value will appear. Remember the weights must add to 100%. The sliders are preset to the users’ most recent choice of weights. These weights are easily changed by readjusting the sliders and then clicking on the “obtain AIP” and a new value will appear based on the just chosen weights. You can easily check on the AIP of other artists in this group by returning to the drop-down artist menu and entering a new name and the clicking on the “obtain AIP” box.

You can also use the “crowd source” average weights on this page. While creating the AIP using your own weights you can click on a box at the bottom of the page that allows for the simultaneous creation of an additional AIP score that uses the average of the crowd sourced weights for each performance metric. The latter can then be used for comparative purposes.

Clicking on the next left hand side category “CALCULATE OWN ARTIST AIP NEGATIVE MARPUR” gives you the opportunity to develop your own AIP for a designated artist, with negative MARPUR. This category works in the exact same way as the one above it.

Clicking on the last left hand side toolbar entries gives the user the opportunity of obtaining the top five artist ranking in each sale frequency/price group using your personal weights.
